Rapid prototyping is faster and easier than ever at UCF in this lab complex in the Engineering II Atrium. Opened in fall 2014, these Maker Spaces are strategically designed to turn creative ideas into marketable innovations, and available to all UCF students.

SARC@CECS

SARC@CECS offers free small group peer tutoring to students enrolled in undergraduate courses such as Introduction to C Programming, Object Oriented Program, Computer Science I, Introduction to Discrete Structures, Solid Mechanics, Statics, Dynamics, Thermodynamics, Principles of Electrical Engineering (and Electrical Networks), Physics for Engineers I & II, and other courses. The courses supported in the tutoring center can vary from term to term, depending on the availability of trained tutors. The center is staffed by advanced students with exceptional academic records who have been trained for this role by the Student Academic Resource Center (SARC).

Peer tutoring sessions are hosted in-person and online through Zoom during the hours of Monday – Thursday 9:00 am – 7:00 pm and Friday 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.

Students interested in attending a small group peer tutoring session are encouraged to consult the schedule to determine when tutors for their courses are expected to be available. Group tutoring is on a drop-in basis and no appointment is necessary.

Texas Instruments Innovation Lab
Bring ideas to this space to quickly build first-stage prototypes with 3D printers, laser cutters, Texas Instruments components and other high-tech equipment. A variety of materials, including plastic, foam and metal, are available. Staffed by professional advisors.

Manufacturing Lab
Build and refine more late-stage prototypes here. The lab offers heavy manufacturing equipment for cutting, machining and sanding. Staffed by professional advisors. The UCF School of Visual Arts and Design can provide design assistance.
