Herb Gingold combined his entrepreneurial spirit with his electrical engineering and business education, and his passion for the RV lifestyle, by starting his company RV Intelligence, a lifelong dream come true.
As a teen, he experimented with electronics, programming and engineering as a hobby. His entrepreneurial seeds were planted by observing his father, a mechanical engineer, work on several startup projects.
After four years in the U.S. Navy as an electronics technician, he worked at various engineering firms as a technician, eventually joining Martin Marietta (now Lockheed Martin). There he worked full time while attending UCF, earning his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Summa Cum Laude.
After Martin Marietta, Gingold’s 25-year career in engineering, technical support and sales garnered awards for top achievers. He went on to earn his MBA from UCF’s executive program which fueled his roles in product development and manufacturing leadership.
In addition to annual giving to CECS Alumni Endowed Scholarship, Gingold supports UCF as chair of the Industry Advisory Board for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He won the UCF Jefferson Award for Volunteerism in 2012.
Gingold lives in Longwood, Florida, with his wife Vicky (UCF ’04). He has three children (ages 30, 26, and 14) and Tiger the Trailer Dog, “Mr. Adorable.”
