Welcome to the Web site of the College of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Central Florida (UCF). On behalf of our more than 150 faculty members, 75 staff associates, and 6,000 students, I am very pleased that you are interested in learning about us. Our college is a mere 40 years young, and as you will quickly discover, we are one of the most dynamic and fastest-growing engineering and computer science colleges in the nation.
Our mission is to further the knowledge and practice of the engineering and computer science professions nationally and internationally. We strive to provide our students with the best possible education in a stimulating research- oriented and intellectually diverse environment. We provide high-quality and innovative undergraduate and graduate curricula that prepare our students to be effective, contributing members of a technological society and life-long learners. We are committed to strengthening our partnerships with industry, engaging our alumni and friends, and serving the state of Florida and beyond.
Our students are remarkably bright and talented. They come to our college to learn and become the technological leaders of tomorrow. Our faculty are some of the best and brightest that you will find anywhere. They are actively engaged in teaching and research at the forefront of their fields. Our staff are exceptionally dedicated to our college, and they help to create the professional environment that allows all of us to flourish.
With more than 50,000 students, UCF is the 3rd largest university in the nation by enrollment. One of UCF’s goals is to be the leading partnership university in America and, in that spirit, our college encourages corporate partners to collaborate with us in education, research and innovation.
Located in the Florida High Tech Corridor and aligned with Enterprise Florida and the Corridor's existing and expanding industry sectors, our college provides undergraduate and graduate students with an unparalleled abundance of career opportunities. Our students and faculty work closely with several companies in the Central Florida Research Park. The 1,000 acre park, next to UCF’s main campus, has more than 125 companies and 10,000 employees, including more than 800 UCF students and graduates. Our corporate internship programs bring faculty, students and industry together to enhance the quality of our education and provide students with real-world experiences that prepare them well for high-tech careers. We have valued relationships with domestic and international technology-related companies, many of which are located in the Orlando area.
