At the end of the spring semester, the MSTAR students were invited to a reception dinner hosted by the Office of Naval Research (ONR). It was held at NASA Kennedy Space Center’s very own Atlantis Space Shuttle exhibit. This was a great opportunity for the students to network with engineers and officers from the United States Navy and various South American Naval branches. They even had the opportunity to meet and dine with one of Atlantis’ astronauts, Andy Allen. A big thank you to the ONR for inviting the students to this wonderful event!
Olivia Ricca, one of the 2023 fellows, was able to attend:
“As my first formal NASA event, I was really excited. The chance to network with renowned engineers and Naval officers was a great experience for my professional development. Meeting an astronaut was very inspiring and it was nice to be able to socialize with the other MSTAR fellows! I had wonderful time and would definitely do it again.”
