Principal Investigator
Dr. Agarwal joined UCF in 2018 as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2024. He is the founding director of the UrbanITY Lab and currently serves as the director of UCF’s Future City Initiative. His research focuses on cyber-physical systems, smart and connected transportation, and connected and autonomous vehicles. He integrates control theory, information science, data-driven techniques, and mathematical modeling in his work. He has published one book and over 35 peer-reviewed journal papers. His work has been supported by funding from organizations including Oculus, FHWA, and FDOT. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and serves as an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems.

Research focus: Mathematical Modeling (Koopman operator theory, dynamical systems, epidemiological mobility modeling).
Research focus: 3D Computer Vision & AI (LiDAR point-cloud processing, autonomous vehicle perception)
Research focus: C-V2X (Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything) and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).
