The College of Engineering and Computer Science has two awardees who will be recognized tonight at a well-deserved celebration of their unfailing dedication and service to UCF. The Shining Knight Awards, presented each year during Homecoming Week, honor the many endeavors and accomplishments of truly notable Knights.
Kevin Wydra ’92 is one of four Knights who will be commended with the highest honor for a UCF graduate: the Distinguished Alumni Award. Wydra, a computer science alumnus and technology entrepreneur, serves on the UCF Foundation Board of Directors. As one of UCF’s most ardent and dedicated champions, he has worked tirelessly on a number of university initiatives, advancing impactful programs and supporting many essential scholarships.
Aerospace engineering major Ossyris Bury will be receiving the highest honor for a current UCF student: the Distinguished Student Award. An exceptional Knight, the Burnett Honors Scholar has earned a number of accolades during her academic journey, including the prestigious Goldwater Scholarship, and serves as a mentor and teaching assistant for hundreds of her peers.
