Biography

Tom Nedorost joined the University of Central Florida in 2012 as an instructor of computer science and information technology. He was promoted to associate instructor in 2018 and to senior instructor in 2024.

He is the course coordinator for CIS3003, Fundamentals of Information Technology; CIS4364, Cyber Defense Analysis; CIS4940C, Topics in Cybersecurity; and director of the Cyber Operations Certificate program and the CS/IT internship program.

Nedorost serves as the coach for the UCF Collegiate Cybersecurity Competition (C3) Team and faculty advisor for the Collegiate Cyber Defense Club (Hack@UCF) and Women in Cyber Security Club. Under his leadership, the UCF C3 Team has won 13 national championships in cyber competitions. Hack@UCF was awarded the Collegiate Cybersecurity Championship Cup in 2014 and 2015 in recognition of the club's record of exceptional performances over a wide variety of cybersecurity competitions.

His interests include cybersecurity, generative AI, information assurance, digital literacy and societal impacts of new technologies.

Prior to joining UCF, Nedorost taught computer information technology courses at Valencia College. His past industry experience includes technical management positions with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), the Hewlett-Packard Company and the Walt Disney World Company.
