Biography

Niloofar Yousefi is an assistant professor in the UCF Department of Industrial Engineering and Management Systems. Her work emphasizes computer Science, machine learning and agent-based modeling at UCF’s Complex Adaptive Systems (CAS) Laboratory. She received her doctorate in industrial engineering and operation research. Her dissertation was focused on multi-task learning (MTL), a machine learning framework training multiple related tasks simultaneously to overcome the data scarcity limitation of conventional independent task learning models with the aim of achieving better generalization performance over all tasks. Niloofar received her bachelor's degree in applied mathematics and a master's degree in operation research.
