Dennis Filler received his bachelor’s degree in 1986 and his master’s degree in 1988, both from the University of Central Florida. He earned his doctoral degree in interdisciplinary engineering (geo-environmental) from the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 1997.

In addition to serving as an associate lecturer at UCF, Filler has served an assistant and adjunct professor at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and as an adjunct professor at the University of Kansas.

Filler’s research interests and expertise include remediation engineering, contaminants in freezing ground, solid and hazardous waste management and sustainable practices. His research has been funded by the Florida Department of Transportation, the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation, and the U.S. Army Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory.
