Biography

Aleksandra A. Petelski-Kulik earned her doctoral degree in bioengineering from Northeastern University, and her bachelor’s in biomedical engineering and master’s in materials engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. During her doctoral training in the Slavov Laboratory, she gained experience in mass spectrometry proteomics by contributing to the development of the lab’s single-cell proteomics methodology, which then she applied towards early mammalian development.

With a keen interest in making single-cell proteomics more accessible, Petelski-Kulik co-founded Parallel Squared Technology Institute, a non-profit research organization dedicated to drastically scaling up the throughput of MS proteomics without sacrificing accuracy. At UCF, she aims to exploit the heterogeneity of single cell proteomes towards building better materials for biomedical applications.
