Welcome to the CRAFTS website (the “Website”), operated by the University of Central Florida (“UCF”) and the CRAFTS development team (“CRAFTS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Website, including requests to obtain CRAFTS software and related materials.
By accessing or using the Website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Website.
1. Website Use
The Website provides information and resources relating to CRAFTS, including documentation, research information, publications, media, event information, contact forms, and information about obtaining CRAFTS software and related materials.
You may use the Website for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use the Website for any unlawful or unauthorized purpose;
- Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to the Website or its underlying systems;
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information through Website forms or download-request processes;
- Attempt to circumvent eligibility, affiliation, export-control, or other screening requirements associated with obtaining CRAFTS software; or
- Use information, software, or other materials obtained through the Website in a manner that violates applicable law, regulation, or agreement.
We reserve the right to restrict, suspend, or terminate access to portions of the Website when reasonably necessary, including where we believe that these Terms or applicable requirements have been violated.
2. CRAFTS Software and Download Requests
Certain CRAFTS software, Modelica libraries, documentation, and other materials may be made available for download through the Website.
Access to downloadable materials may be subject to eligibility requirements, review, approval, licensing terms, export-control requirements, or other conditions established by UCF or applicable law. Submission of a download request does not guarantee that a download will be approved or provided.
As part of the download-request process, you may be required to provide information regarding your identity, organization, affiliation, and other information necessary to determine eligibility to receive CRAFTS materials. You agree that the information you provide will be accurate and complete.
You may also be required to certify or disclose whether you have an affiliation with certain foreign entities or organizations. These requirements are intended to support UCF’s compliance obligations and applicable laws, regulations, policies, and contractual requirements.
Approval of a download request does not by itself grant you ownership of CRAFTS or any intellectual property contained within it. Your use of downloaded software and materials may be subject to a separate license agreement or other terms provided by UCF.
3. Software Licensing and Other Agreements
Nothing on this Website constitutes a grant of rights or license to CRAFTS software or other intellectual property except where expressly stated.
Where CRAFTS software or other technology is provided pursuant to a separate license, agreement, or other written terms, those terms will govern your use of the applicable materials to the extent of any conflict with these Terms.
If CRAFTS software is made available under an open-source license, the applicable open-source license will govern the rights and obligations associated with the software covered by that license.
4. Intellectual Property
The Website and its contents, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, documentation, software, photographs, videos, designs, and other materials, may be protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Except where otherwise indicated, intellectual property associated with the Website and CRAFTS is owned by UCF and/or the applicable authors, creators, developers, licensors, or other rights holders.
Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of intellectual property to you.
The CRAFTS name, associated logos, and other marks may be trademarks or service marks of UCF, its licensors, or other respective owners. You may not use such marks in a manner that suggests sponsorship, endorsement, affiliation, or authorization without appropriate permission.
5. Documentation and Other Content
Documentation and other information made available through the Website are provided for informational and research purposes.
While we make reasonable efforts to maintain accurate and useful information, we do not guarantee that Website content or documentation is complete, current, or error-free.
You are responsible for evaluating whether CRAFTS and its documentation are appropriate for your intended use.
6. User Feedback and Suggestions
We welcome comments, questions, suggestions, and other feedback regarding CRAFTS.
By submitting feedback or suggestions to us, you understand that we may use, reproduce, modify, incorporate, or otherwise utilize that feedback in connection with CRAFTS, the Website, research, development, documentation, or related activities, without an obligation to compensate you or maintain the feedback as confidential, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
You should not submit confidential, proprietary, export-controlled, or otherwise restricted information through general Website contact forms unless specifically requested through an appropriate secure process.

Third-party websites and services are not controlled by UCF or the CRAFTS development team. Your use of third-party websites and services is subject to their respective terms, policies, and privacy practices.
We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, content, security, or practices of third-party websites or services.
8. Events and Contact Forms
The Website may provide forms through which users can contact the CRAFTS team, register for events, submit questions, or provide other information.
Submitting a form does not necessarily create a contractual relationship between you and UCF or guarantee a response, event registration, download, license, or other service unless expressly confirmed by UCF or the CRAFTS team.

Information submitted through the Website may include personal information necessary to process contact requests, event registrations, download requests, eligibility determinations, or other Website functions.

CRAFTS software or related technology may, where authorized by UCF, be made available for purchase or licensing through UCF’s authorized payment or licensing processes.
Any purchase, license, fee, payment obligation, refund provision, or other commercial term will be governed by the applicable UCF agreement, payment process, invoice, license agreement, or other terms provided at the time of purchase.
Submitting a request through the Website does not constitute acceptance of a purchase or license agreement unless expressly confirmed by an authorized representative of UCF.
12. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Website and its contents are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
UCF and the CRAFTS development team make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the Website, its availability, its contents, or the accuracy or completeness of information provided through the Website.
In particular, we do not warrant that the Website or any downloadable materials will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or suitable for a particular purpose.
CRAFTS software may be research software and may require additional testing, validation, configuration, or modification before use in a particular application. Users are responsible for independently evaluating and validating software and results for their intended purposes.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, UCF and the CRAFTS development team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or other damages arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Website or materials obtained through the Website.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive or limit any rights, immunities, protections, or limitations of liability applicable to UCF under federal or state law.

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Website, CRAFTS, applicable requirements, or UCF policies.

These Terms are intended to operate alongside applicable UCF policies, regulations, privacy notices, licenses, and other agreements.
If a separate written agreement governs your use of CRAFTS software or other materials, that agreement will control in the event of a conflict with these Website Terms.
