Arun Ramaswamy leads Global Engineering for Nielsen with responsibilities in Platform Development, Deployment and R&D for both the Watch and Buy businesses. Engineering develops hardware, software and SDK based solutions for TV and Audio Ratings, Digital (Content, Ad, Audio) Ratings products. On the consumer side, Engineering creates solutions for eCommerce, consumer panels and retail data collection.
Arun Ramaswamy has been with the Nielsen Company since 2001. He started his career as a Scientist at Vela Research, a leader of Digital TV equipment and Cohere Networks, a startup in Denver.
He completed his undergraduate degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and Ph.D. (Electrical Engineering) from the University of Central Florida. He is one of the leading inventors at Nielsen and has to his credit over 80 patents. He presents regularly at industry forums and has received numerous awards including the 2012 Arthur C. Nielsen Award (Chairman’s Award), ARF Great Minds Award in Innovation and the Nielsen’s Top Inventor Award. He has also received three Engineering Emmys in his career.
