Distributed Observer Network (DON) is a space simulation viewer originally developed by NASA. It allows users to interact with a mission simulation by moving through space and time. DON allows this interactivity without providing direct access to the internals of the simulation - only requiring a telemetry output file. This makes it valuable for international collaboration on missions like the ISS and Artemis. We are part of a long-running student effort to produce an open source version of DON. Our group's MVP is to support truly space-scale distances in DON: the application is currently constrained by the Unreal world limit of ~88 million km. Extending this boundary allows us to support missions between the Earth, Mars, and beyond.
