Dr. Seetha Raghavan

Dr. Raghavan is a Professor at the University of Central Florida. Her primary area of research is in the elucidation of the mechanics of structures and materials through innovative characterization techniques with goals to revolutionize and engineer their capabilities. Research publications include investigating the mechanics of high temperature coatings on turbine blades and new additive manufactured materials for propulsion and energy technology as well as developing sensing materials to monitor structural integrity and detect damage in ceramic composites for enhanced safetyResearch focus areas range from fundamentals of load transfer with nanoparticle reinforcements to “seeing” stress evolution in high temperature coatings under replicated extreme environments. Dr. Raghavan has 7 years of experience in the Aerospace industry. She is an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and was honored by Women in Aerospace with the 2019 Aerospace Educator Award.
