Dr. Marina Braun-Unkhoff
Dr. Marina Braun-Unkhoff is a senior research scientist at the Institute of Combustion Technology of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Stuttgart, Germany. She holds a doctoral degree in natural sciences from Stuttgart University and a diploma degree in chemistry from the Ruhr University Bochum. She is working at DLR on high temperature combustion of gaseous and liquid fuels by a combination of experimental and numerical methods, in the field of elementary reaction kinetics, NOx chemistry, flame chemistry as well as soot and their precursors. Currently, her major research areas are the use and application of advanced and sustainable fuels for energy, aviation, and transport. Within the IRES-programme she joined 5 years ago to collaborate with Dr. Vasu focusing on combustion in gas turbines, she hosted several students from Dr. Vasu’s group together with her colleague Dr. Naumann. She was a visiting scientist at the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Delaware, USA, at the Institute of Technology, Lund University, Sweden, and at the Chemical Sciences and Engineering Division, Argonne National Laboratory, USA.
