President
Jannah Barakat
Jannah is a mechanical engineering major on the pre-med track with a passion for wearable biomedical devices, rehab engineering, and community-centered innovation. As President, she brings together students from engineering and medicine to grow BMES into a hub for creativity, collaboration, and real-world impact at UCF. She’s especially focused on expanding industry connections, research exposure, and hands-on opportunities for members.

Vice President
Madison (Madi) Lajter
Madi is a Junior in Mechanical Engineering. As Vice President, she assists on coordinating all BMES events, meetings, and outreach. She is passionate about rehab engineering and is eager to get more hands-on experience under her belt!

Secretary
Gabriel Ospina
Gabriel is a mechanical engineering major who helps keep BMES and its members updated and organized! Along with his passion for robotics, he hopes to advance the field of prosthetics to help create fully functional bionic limbs.
Project Director
Eoin Ridgeway
Eoin is a senior in mechanical engineering who oversees BMES projects and leads the project committee. He hopes to work on bionics to help those in need, and in his free time enjoys gaming and creating 3D art in Blender.
Workshop Director
Alexandra (Lexi) Hunnell
Lexi is a computer engineering major who helps run and coordinate BMES workshops! She is very passionate about learning and hopes to share that passion with others.
Recruitment Director
Zack Groth
Zack is a biomedical sciences (neuroscience track) and computer engineering major who’s interested in combining tech and medicine to solve real-world problems. As Recruitment Director, he works to bring new faces into BMES through fun, engaging events and research connections. Outside of BMES, he’s involved in neural engineering projects and is always looking for creative ways to turn big ideas into reality.

Media Director
Litsy Duenas
Litsy is a Health Sciences major and the Media Coordinator for BMES bringing creativity, strong communication skills, and an outgoing personality to the team! She plans to become a dentist and makes positive impacts through community efforts.

Outreach Director
Santino (Sonny) Maiorino
Sonny is a materials science and engineering student who reaches out to professors, local organizations, and volunteer groups for BMES events. He is interested in biomaterials and tissue engineering, and he enjoys speedcubing in his free time.

Graduate Student Relations Director
Jethro Suarez
Jethro is a biomedical engineering PhD student with a background in mechanical engineering and biomechanics. His research focuses on using technology to assess fall risk in older adults and developing wearable assistive devices for individuals with reduced mobility. He constantly engages in collaboration with faculty, as well as graduate and undergraduate students, from various disciplines outside of engineering, with the ongoing goal of leveraging technology to address real-world challenges.
