Biography:

Dr. Bernard C. DeLoach, received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in physics from Auburn University in 1951 and 1952 and the Ph.D. in physics from Ohio State University in 1956.
He joined Bell Laboratories in 1956 as a member of the Radio Research Department and in 1990 became a Courtesy Professor of Engineering Science at the University of Central Florida. He has worked in the areas of microwave filters, microwave parametric amplifiers, microwave and millimeter wave solid state oscillators, light emitting diodes, semiconductor lasers, and avalanche photodetectors.
Dr. DeLoach is an IEEE Life Fellow and received the IEEE's David Sarnoff Award in 1975, the Franklin Institute's Stuart Ballantine Medal in 1975, the IEEE Medal for Engineering Excellence (with co-recipients) in 1993, and the Vladimir Karapetoff Award of Eta Kappa Nu in 2003. He has served in many areas of IEEE activities.
