Assistant Prof. Ulas Bagci and his team have developed a new way to more accurately and more efficiently detect early-stage lung cancer tumors using artificial intelligence computer algorithms. The program can help radiologists pinpoint small, early-stage tumors, allowing for earlier treatment intervention. The research will be presented in September at an international conference hosted by MICCAI, the largest professional organization dedicated to imaging for medicine.
