Mark Blue, B.S., ME, ’89; M.S., IE, ’08; MBA, ’10

Mark Blue is senior systems engineer and commercial team manager within the Space & Intelligence Segment of Harris Corporation, where he is responsible for developing technology roadmaps, and market penetration and intellectual property strategies in support of the Energy and Maritime industries.

His prior leadership roles include program manager, chief systems engineer, project engineer and integrated product team leader. His technical background includes mechanical systems, structural and mechanism design in the space, DOD and proprietary product lines.

Blue is named as an inventor on 11 U.S. patents.

Blue also served in the Navy’s Civil Engineer Corps. He retired as the executive officer of Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 14 after 21 years of active and reserve service. His military awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, Joint and Coast Guard Meritorious Unit Commendations, Armed Forces, Navy, and GWOT Expeditionary Medals, National Defense and GWOT Service Medals, Navy Good Conduct Medal, Rifle and Pistol Marksmanship Medals.

He volunteers for the NMCB14 Alumni Association; the UCF College of Engineering and Computer Science Alumni Chapter Board; the UCF NSF iCorps Program; three startup company advisory boards and the Harris Military Veterans and Intrapreneur Resource Groups.

Prior to joining Harris, Blue was a student and machinist at UCF after completing his first tour in the Navy. Blue holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, and master’s degrees in industrial engineering and business administration.

His hobbies include fishing and Crossfit.
