On Saturday, October 14th from 10 am to 4 pm, IEEE-USA is taking over the Orlando Science Center (777 E Princeton St, Orlando, FL 32803), with a day of leadership training, fun and thought-provoking activities, networking and a panel discussion. Lunch is provided.

Getting into Graduate School Panel

Date: Tuesday, October 17.

Time: 6:00pm – 7:00pm.

Place: CREOL 103

Getting into Graduate School Panel by The Society of Optics Students. This panel will consist of UCF Professors familiar with graduate school applications and what they expect from a graduate student. Some topics that will be covered are: picking a graduate school program, how to pick an adviser, how to attain funding, how funding usually works, how to make yourself a competitive applicant, a day in the life of a graduate student, etc. Bring your questions for the Q&A session!! Panelists: Dr. Sudipta Seal, Pegasus Professor and Chair, Materials Science and Engineering Dr. Axel Schulzgen, Professor of Optics & Photonics, Graduate Committee Member, CREOL Dr. Mercedeh Khajavikhan, Associate Professor of Optics & Photonics, CREOL.

Intro to Electronics: September 28th | 7:30 to 9 PM
This is an introductory workshop to electronics that goes over the concepts needed before going on to the next workshops.

Soldering with ASME: October 5th | 12 to 6 PM
This workshop will go through how to solder. At the end you can take home a small protoboard with a circuit that YOU soldered!

Schematics and Layout:

October 12th
Learn how to design the schematic for the thing you want to build! We will be using Eagle Cad Design.
IEEEXtreme Programming Competition
IEEEXtreme is a global challenge in which teams of IEEE Student members compete in a 24-hour time span against each other to solve a set of programming problems. Remember that you need to be an IEEE member before registering for the competition.

Fall 2016 Career Expo

The Career Expo gives students and alumni the chance to meet with employers face-to-face to discuss career opportunities. This fair is perfect for those seeking full and part time professional positions, internships, volunteer positions and more!

Bring lots of resumes for the chance to network and even interview onsite. Representatives from corporations of all industries and sizes participate. Last year the Expo drew close to 250 employers and over 1,600 students and alumni.
