According to the ASEE 2001 Profiles, of the 353 reporting colleges, CECS was ranked:

  • In the top 9% of colleges for the number of Bachelor's degrees awarded in engineering.
  • In the top 10% for the number of Master's degrees awarded in engineering.
  • In the top 12% for the number of PhD degrees awarded in engineering.
    In the top 3% for the number of Bachelor's degrees awarded in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
  • In the top 3% for the number of Bachelor's degrees awarded to Hispanic students.
  • In the top 10% for College Research expenditures.
  • First in enrollment of First-Time-In College Freshmen (FTIC) of any of the State Universities in Florida offering engineering programs.

  • 5,503 students in the College of Engineering and Computer Science.

        • 174 Females (23.02%)

        • 64 Females (17.44%)
    • 989 FTIC students
      • Avg. SAT 1200- Math 620, Verbal 580
      • Avg. ACT 25
      • Avg. High School GPA 3.71
    • 54 National Merit Scholars
    • 77 LEAD scholars
    • 132 University Honors students

      • Avg. SAT 1338
      • Avg. High School GPA 4.16
    • Students by diversity (undergraduate and graduate): 60 % white,
      11 % Hispanic, 9 % Asian, 7 % African American, 1 % American Indian,
      12% international
    • Students from at least 40 countries enrolled in the College.
