Aug. 24, 2015 — Pamela McCauley, professor, Department of Industrial Engineering & Management Systems, has been awarded a Jefferson Science Fellowship with the U.S. State Department for the 2015-2016 term. The Jefferson Science Fellowship program serves as an innovative model for engaging the American academic science and engineering communities in U.S. foreign policy.
June 13, 2015 — Debra R. Reinhart, professor,Department of Civil, Environmental and Construction Engineering, has been named a 2015 Fellow by the Association of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors. Reinhart is also assistant vice president for Research, Office of Research and Commercialization at UCF.
May 24, 2015 — Kalpathy Sundaram, professor, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has been awarded the 2015 Dielectric Science and Technology Division Thomas D. Callinan Award, emblematic of excellence in dielectrics and insulation investigations. Sundaram is also a graduate coordinator in the department.
May 23, 2015 — Haitham Al-Deek, professor, Department of Civil, Environmental and Construction Engineering, was the Keynote Speaker at the 7th Traffic Safety Conference organized by the Jordan Traffic Institute, title of Professor Al-Deek’s speech was “Innovative Research Methodology and Countermeasures for Combating Wrong-Way Driving,”
April 1, 2015 — Kevin Mackie, associate professor, Department of Civil, Environmental and Construction Engineering, has been named chair of the American Concrete Institute’s Earthquake-Resistant Concrete Bridges for a three-year term. Mackie is also associate chair of the department.
March 1, 2015 — Mohammed Abdel-Aty, professor, Department of Civil, Environmental and Construction Engineering, received the University 2014 award for “Faculty Excellence in Mentoring Doctoral Students”, recipient in the disciplinary grouping of “Engineering, Physical Sciences, and Life Sciences”.
