CECE Distinguished Lecture Series Welcomes: Robert Dean (Seminar)

Description: Global Sea Level Rise: 20th Century and Beyond

Robert (Bob) G. Dean is Professor Emeritus in the Coastal and Oceanographic Engineering Program, Civil and Coastal Engineering Department, University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida. He has researched and taught subjects relating to waves and wave forces and beach systems for the last 47 years. During that period he has held professorships at MIT, University of Washington, University of Delaware and the University of Florida. He chaired the National Research Council (NRC) Committees on "Engineering Implications of Sea Level Change" (1982-1986), and "Restoration and Protection of Coastal Louisiana," (2001 to 2005). He has received numerous national awards and was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 1980 and as a Distinguished Member of ASCE in 2010.
