The College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) at UCF employs 244 faculty and staff associates to assist 5,849 students. It provides high quality education, exploring and creating new solutions to problems.
4 Year Plans, Check-sheets, and Flowcharts are available for our Undergraduate Programs on our Forms page.
Students must apply to UCF through the Admissions office. Admitted students can then declare a major within the College. CECS does not have additional admission requirements to get into the engineering and computer science programs. To apply, please visit the Undergraduate Admissions web site.
Once admitted, transfer students may need to petition engineering and computer science related courses through the appropriate CECS departments. Credit for transfer courses may not be used to meet major requirements until the courses are evaluated and the petitioning process is completed. Transfer students in need of assistance with the transfer process should contact the CECS Academic Affairs Office.
Once you have been accepted into UCF, you will need to attend the Freshman Orientation or the Transfer Orientation.
The College presentation of this orientation will give you an overview of the college and split you into groups by major for a group advising session. Afterward, you will be assigned a first year advisor who, along with your CECS Academic Affairs advisors, will help you register for your classes.
The College portion of the Transfer Orientation will give you an overview of the college and split you into groups by major for a group advising session. CECS Academic Affairs officials will then help you register for your first term at UCF. It is important that you bring your unofficial transcripts from your previous institution with you so that CECS officials can accurately answer your questions and help you with registration.
A minor is a complement to a bachelor’s degree program/major requiring at least 18 credit hours in a field. This allows students to specialize in a particular area of study or to study something that is a secondary interest.
Aerospace Studies: Sponsored by Air Force ROTC, this minor is intended for students of all disciplines interested in pursuing a career in the military and who are enrolled in the Air Force ROTC program.

It is never too early to start planning your graduation. The semester before you have met all your degree requirements on your audit according to your catalog year, you must submit your intent to graduate online through MyUCF and complete the CECS Graduation Survey. The College survey can be picked up from the CECS Academic Affairs Office in Engineering Building 1 in Room 107.
If you have concerns or questions about graduating, please make an appointment with a College or department academic advisor. A list of these advisors can be found under our Advising page.
